Description

Everyone has achievements that speak to his/her abilities, interests and talents. Sometimes we don't realize what we are best at until we take inventory and see it "in print". Documenting your accomplishments or defining moments as a young changemaker can be profoundly empowering to yourself and inspiring to others. Use this exercise as a jumping off point for future self development.

To get started, reflect on the following statements and fill in the blanks for as many as you can.

  • “I inspired/motivated…”
  • "I crafted/created/made..."
  • “I founded/started/initiated…”
  • “I published/wrote…”
  • "I produced/directed/executed…”
  • “I documented/reported…”

(These statements are inspired by an exercise created by Danielle Laporte for The Fire Starter Sessions.)

You can share it with your social networks and other members of TakingITGlobal.

Task

1. Use the fill-in-the-blank phrases to craft statements reflecting your own accomplishments as a changemaker. Complete as many as you can and feel free to use a phrase more than once to create multiple statements.

2. Circle or star the most important statements from your list. Consider this an opportunity to prioritize your accomplishments.

3. Sign up for a Pathbrite account to create your online portfolio. Choose a template, design and fonts. Then add at least 4 achievements or defining moments along with skills from your Personal Reflection on Skill Development activity.

4. Refine and add to this portfolio over time. Share it with your social networks and other TakingITGlobal members.
